CRABALLS

How to play

Two minutes and you are in. Here is everything you need to know about Craballs - the rules, the modes, the controls and how to find a game.

The basics

One ball, four walls, no mercy

The arenaA square court with a wall on every side. The ball keeps bouncing until somebody runs out of lives.
Your livesEvery player starts with 20 lives.
A missIf the ball reaches your wall and your paddle is not in the way, you lose one life and the ball goes back to the middle.
Out of livesAt zero you are out of the match, and your wall turns solid - from then on the ball bounces off it.
The winnerThe last player still standing wins. If everybody runs out at the same time, it is a draw.
Game modes

Duel or four-way

2

Duel - two players

One player takes the bottom wall, the other takes the top wall. The two side walls are plain rebounds with nobody behind them. It is the classic duel.

4

Four-way - four players

Every wall has a player and a paddle. The ball has to be kept alive from four sides at once, so the matches are shorter and much harder to survive.

Those are the only two sizes: a duel has paddles on the top and the bottom wall, a four-way has a paddle on every wall.

Controls

You drive the wall you got

The controls follow the wall you were assigned, so you never have to think about it.

Top or bottom wallA and D or the ← and → keys
Left or right wallW and S or the ↑ and ↓ keys
On a phoneTouch the left or the right half of the screen to move. Up and down work the same way for the players on the side walls.
Leaving a matchThe Leave button in the upper left corner ends the match for you. The other players are told right away.
Finding a game

Three ways into a match

The quick match

One room is always open for players who just want to play. Join it and the game starts as soon as somebody else shows up.

The open rooms

The room list shows every room that is still looking for players and how many it needs. Hit refresh if somebody joined while you were looking.

Your own room

Create a room with a name you like and pick two or four players. Send the name to your friends - the match starts once the room is full.

Tips

Stay alive longer

The ball always comes back, so there is nothing to gain from chasing it. Stay near the middle of your wall: you cover both corners and you react faster to the sharp angles.

In a four-way match the wall of an eliminated player turns solid and the court gets tighter. That is the moment to go on the attack.

Enough reading - play a round

Open the game, pick a room and defend your wall.
